Today I had a workshop for some friends to put together an album using Graphic 45 French country papers <br />
The tag hanging on the spine is printed onto shrink plastic and the book is embellished with layers of paper images,washi tape,tags,postage stamps, metal charms and 3d flowers<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V__nguAaqB0/UdSEcaTQdgI/AAAAAAAABG0/lhWTlHLfHv0/s1600/SAM_2667.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="304" oya="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V__nguAaqB0/UdSEcaTQdgI/AAAAAAAABG0/lhWTlHLfHv0/s320/SAM_2667.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I used an 8x8 page as it was with a slit above the postcard to hold a tag (which I will add a photo to) Most of the pages are cut from 12x12 pieces with fold-outs pockets etc<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RBvEGxhQePs/UdSGxg4_sdI/AAAAAAAABHM/cUZATHACIDk/s1600/SAM_2668.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="236" oya="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RBvEGxhQePs/UdSGxg4_sdI/AAAAAAAABHM/cUZATHACIDk/s320/SAM_2668.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This page has a fold out section on the left and a square fold out section on the left so more photos/embellishments can be added - the section on the right continues over the page to for a belly band<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--SytTTZO1O0/UdSHbo5IIPI/AAAAAAAABHU/u41HZ5y0xG0/s1600/SAM_2669.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" oya="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--SytTTZO1O0/UdSHbo5IIPI/AAAAAAAABHU/u41HZ5y0xG0/s320/SAM_2669.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
.... and the belly band is secured on each side and holds a photo mat<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NZzv7jioQhQ/UdSH7BnYqGI/AAAAAAAABHc/HGA66elQ__c/s1600/SAM_2670.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" oya="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NZzv7jioQhQ/UdSH7BnYqGI/AAAAAAAABHc/HGA66elQ__c/s320/SAM_2670.JPG" width="314" /></a></div>
this shows an extra panel stuck to the left which folds out to reveal more photos and a pocket cut from one of the images on the 12x12 to hold a tag<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hLjlGhIglDA/UdSImMJ2kGI/AAAAAAAABHk/6IJyvjJfj_Y/s1600/SAM_2672.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="261" oya="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-hLjlGhIglDA/UdSImMJ2kGI/AAAAAAAABHk/6IJyvjJfj_Y/s320/SAM_2672.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WQeLIQnUA4A/UdSI8tTAQ9I/AAAAAAAABHs/vc7Vmd4giY4/s1600/SAM_2673.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" oya="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WQeLIQnUA4A/UdSI8tTAQ9I/AAAAAAAABHs/vc7Vmd4giY4/s320/SAM_2673.JPG" width="318" /></a></div>
This page has a centre piece which opens out to show more photos - Cutting down the pages means you can be creative with all the cut off pieces<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8HBXFRGtT0s/UdSJdeCfjxI/AAAAAAAABH0/cj5NCbkUcB0/s1600/SAM_2674.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="303" oya="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8HBXFRGtT0s/UdSJdeCfjxI/AAAAAAAABH0/cj5NCbkUcB0/s320/SAM_2674.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
As the papers are double sided the pieces folded back give an interesting contrast <br />
(oops that picture of the pears needs to be straightened) lol<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3Ndgn4NsH1A/UdSKFMgK_fI/AAAAAAAABH8/MKL2Y_ARwgY/s1600/SAM_2675.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" oya="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3Ndgn4NsH1A/UdSKFMgK_fI/AAAAAAAABH8/MKL2Y_ARwgY/s320/SAM_2675.JPG" width="309" /></a></div>
As a contrast I've made a few of the pages from black card - the card I used is strong enough to support this metal frame which has been coloured with alcohol inks - and is a great backdrop for the pendant embellishments - all of which are stuck on with silicon glue<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jAA9dnEGy7I/UdSK6FDn_GI/AAAAAAAABIE/JNc54eiQ0ks/s1600/SAM_2676.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" oya="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jAA9dnEGy7I/UdSK6FDn_GI/AAAAAAAABIE/JNc54eiQ0ks/s320/SAM_2676.JPG" width="313" /></a></div>
and on the reverse a card fram inked and stamped using French country stamps with a journalling cut out from a 12 x 12" page from the book<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nu4WUclswkw/UdSLgnYBr2I/AAAAAAAABIQ/JzUqRfsIeWU/s1600/SAM_2678.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="319" oya="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nu4WUclswkw/UdSLgnYBr2I/AAAAAAAABIQ/JzUqRfsIeWU/s320/SAM_2678.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Cutting overlapping pockets from off-cuts gives an interesting variation for tags journalling or extra photos<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gyqIC90feNU/UdSL86TveUI/AAAAAAAABIY/h9IaX7vDeQA/s1600/SAM_2681.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="314" oya="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gyqIC90feNU/UdSL86TveUI/AAAAAAAABIY/h9IaX7vDeQA/s320/SAM_2681.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
This fold down page has been trimmed on the left to avoid the ringbinder holes the photo on the front is matted onto black card and used as a pocket for another photo<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9pIpiefjy90/UdSMmLwWg7I/AAAAAAAABIg/rBfZXRrZi88/s1600/SAM_2683.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" oya="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9pIpiefjy90/UdSMmLwWg7I/AAAAAAAABIg/rBfZXRrZi88/s320/SAM_2683.JPG" width="306" /></a></div>
Inside the back cover is a shaped pocket cut with an 'on the edge' die and this has an postcard which is also a pocket - lots of places to add extra photos or journalling tags<br />
<br />
Now to add the embellishments and extra pages<br />
<br />
<br />

Off on my holiday next week - now I have my journal ready to go to Tunisia - looking forward to the sun and the rest (as in relaxation)!<br />
I have made the cover from a fabric paper made from layers of fabric papers and tissue and stitched suitable images and stamped words I have given my cover a waxed finish and lined it with hand dyed fabric<br />

The roof has a copper patina and peeled paint<br />
