Olde Curiosity Shoppe Album

This weekend a group of friends got together at mine to make this album using The Olde Curiosity Shoppe papers from Graphic 45  I had everything prepared for them to assemble the pages and decorate to their own taste  It was a gorgeous day so we were able to have lunch in the garden and when they left there were just finishing off bits to do  I used my book to hold some of the many photos taken at 'The making of Harry Potter' at the Warner Bros. studio tour (which is absolutely fabulous)  Linda showed me her fabulous finished book today and I am looking forward to seeing the others  The papers were from Calico Crafts Here

Queen of my Heart

This heart with a sturdy hook is from Calico Crafts and I gave it a red white and blue makeover for the queen's jubilee next month  I used acrylic paints for the background spongeing stencilling and splattering (great messy fun)  The stamped image is on tissue and added with mod podge - although the heart has a smooth flat surface I played safe by stamping it to craft tissue first with some subtle colouring once it was dry  The little flag came with some cake cases which was the right size then I added the clock face and spinner which also had added acrylic paint  The words queen of my heart are in an old fashioned typewriter font supplies can be found at Calico Crafts  http://www.calicocrafts.co.uk/acatalog/index.htmlpplies

Pat's pencil box

After making one box for a swap I decided to make another or myself - along with some co-ordinating pencils
For this one I started by painting the box instead of using scrapbook paper

Art Journal

I created this journal to be swapped with my friend Lorraine - We will swap it back and forth between us to create a 'masterpiece'
The title is Colour and Texture  which can be interpreted in many guises!  the cover is made from a mixture of paper fabric tissue texture paste inks and wax

Wall hanging

I consider myself very lucky to have been able to join Beryl Taylor in Egypt to produce this work
Beryl is a lovely person with inspiring ideas and we had a fabulous time on this course
We started making fabric paper in its various forms and painted the egyptian cotton in diluted paint for the background and trimmings In true 'Beryl' style we worked on small pieces of work which were then assembled to form a wall hanging No machines available so lots of hand stitching - Beryl was 'on our case' so we could go home with a finished piece......although we had time to swim eat and enjoy our holiday too
