Valentine heart book

I used the gorgeous vintage roses papers from http://www.calicocrafts.co.uk to cut out a heart shape book I also used the papers to make some paper roses to decorate the front I punched holes in the rusty metal heart and layered it onto hessian - that I painted in white acrylic and some french text torn to a heart shape
I finished by tying various ribbon and fibres to the book rings

Chinese Dragon Box

I have been lucky to be chosen for the design team for

and my first project was to do something depicting the chinese year of the dragon - I used a wooden box paints and one step crackle from Calico Crafts for my project painting with acrylic paint stamping with various chinese stamps and adding the crackle paint for a textured finish - the metallic rub-ons gave the antique finish I was looking for
I decided to paint a piece of thick card to match the top and stamped a dragon into several layers of ultra thick embossing enamel which I manipulated to crack around the edges again finishing with the gold rub-ons and stuck this to the top of the box

Travel journals

My friend Anne and I are going on holiday to Egypt in April - the holiday includes a textile mixed media course with my favourite mixed media artist Beryl Taylor I wanted to take a journal with me - and of course one for Anne too. They are made from fabric paper lined with tie-dyed cotton fabric with a Egypt/sewing theme they include a pocket and a needlecase inside and removable scissors and thimble attached to the spine

Numbers postcard

Each month on UK Stampers there is a postcard challenge - the postcard is posted naked (no embelishments) - this month the subject was numbers
I have interpreted this with inks and random stamping
