The Long Road

Today I did my pages for a circle journal of desert island discs
The track I had to depict was Nickleback's See you at the show from 'The Long Road' album
I started off with paint and stencils printed from a gelli plate adding painted images

French Country

Today I had a workshop for some friends to put together an album using Graphic 45 French country papers
The tag hanging on the spine is printed onto shrink plastic and the book is embellished with layers of paper images, washi tape, tags, postage stamps, metal charms and 3d flowers
I used an 8x8 page  as it was with a slit above the postcard to hold a tag (which I will add a photo to)  Most of the pages are cut from 12x12 pieces with fold-outs pockets etc

This page has a fold out section on the left and a square fold out section on the left so more photos/embellishments can be added - the section on the right continues over the page to for a belly band

.... and the belly band is secured on each side and holds a photo mat

this shows an extra panel stuck to the left which folds out to reveal more photos and a pocket cut from one of the images on the 12x12 to hold a tag

This page has a centre piece which opens out to show more photos - Cutting down the pages means you can be creative with all the cut off pieces

As the papers are double sided the pieces folded back give an interesting contrast
(oops that picture of the pears needs to be straightened) lol
As a contrast I've made a few of the pages from black card - the card I used is strong enough to support this metal frame which has been coloured with alcohol inks - and is a great backdrop for the pendant embellishments - all of which are stuck on with silicon glue

and on the reverse a card fram inked and stamped using French country stamps with a journalling cut out from a 12 x 12" page from the book
Cutting overlapping pockets from off-cuts gives an interesting variation for tags journalling or extra photos

This fold down page has been trimmed on the left to avoid the ringbinder holes  the photo on the front is matted onto black card and used as a pocket for another photo

Inside the back cover is a shaped pocket cut with an 'on the edge' die and this has an postcard which is also a pocket - lots of places to add extra photos or journalling tags

Now to add the embellishments and extra pages
