Halloween invitation

the weekly journal page for UK Stampers all about  being Sociable as I have planned a halloween party for Monday this all fitted in well
the background is a blend of two images - with a spooky font - I used the top part of the invitation and matted it to a black background embossed around the edges with a psycadelic powder  The flag for the journalling is halloween themed - and it is finished with dripping blood  (ok red wax)

Halloween bottle

Another altered bottle to add to my halloween collection - the witches skull bottle stopper might be given a hat - the bleeding eyeballs will deter you from drinking the poison inside the bottle

Witches legs

Just a warning for any bad witches that call on Halloween
these life size legs started with a padded wire shape - strengthened with wooden dowelling and then encased in fabric leg shapes - dressed in stripey tights and finished with felt boots  they are stuffed into a long black bin - to give the witch plenty of headroom

Especially for halloween

This bottle was an oil dispenser but it had a hole in the bottom - I thought this was a good place to have a worm emerging

Altered bottles

the result of an online course with  - Andy Skinner http://andyskinnerorg.blogspot.com/
just in time  for halloween

Leaf branch tree

For the prompt of leaf branch tree for this month's   http://alteritmonthly.blogspot.com/ I altered a box frame - I used the back of the wooden frame as I needed a rigid surface and covered it with a layer of filler (joint filler) leaving a textured surface I left this till it was dry to the touch but still slightly damp then painted the background with acrylic paints The flowers are stamped directly on to the picture but the bird and verse are stamped/printed onto tissue then stuck on with pva I finished it off with clear and coloured beeswax

mermaid

I used filler to cover an old plaque and painted on the mermaid while the plaster was still damp - this allowed me to add testure to the body and hair of the mermaid  I finished off the whole picture with clear and coloured beeswax getting more texture to the piece  I was inspired to do this with the prompt for this months challenge on http://alteritmonthly.blogspot.com/

truth and Lies journal page

my page for this weeks journal on UK Stampers has a paint and ink splodged background underneath a cotton web
I've used the quote 'Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive' which has been written onto velum and woven through the web
The centre is a spinner - to point out the truth and the lies  Of course I always tell the truth.....unless I tell little white lies !!

Vintage soap cone

The cone itself is made from fabric paper that I made to include vintage photos - it is stitched into a cone shape with layers of lace around the top.  The eyelets at the top are threaded with ribbons and a ribbon and fibre tassel is threaded through a large bead at the bottom point
I finshed the cone with paper flowers and a feather  It is filled with handmade soap and packed with vintage crotcheted lace
The tag is layered with vintage papers and photos - lace and a flower with a vintage shell button

Power of 3

Still in my painting phase I found a canvas when I was tidying up and decided to do something totally different - my granddaughter thinks it's scary - it wasn't meant to be - it was meant to be more spiritual

Rock chick

My granddaughter asked me to paint a picture for her so as it's her 8th birthday tomorrow I have painted what she asked for - last year she was still into pink stuff and fairies - she is growing up fast
I hope she likes this I used acrylics on canvas - and added a diamond in her belly button

Folk art bunnies

Spent some time this week making some cute folk art bunnies I like the simplicity of these characters
The bodies are made from a man-made towelling like mterial that I found in a bargain bin the outfits are cotton fabric and the hats are felt

My Perfect Day

The journal prompt on UK Stampers was to depict what a perfect day would be for us
I painted the background for my page with Radiant Pearls and stamped the title  The stamped dancing lesson poster is a Crafty Individual stamp  and as the page required a picture I added a photo of myself blended into the background of a tropical beach.  The perfect end to my perfect day would be to take a stroll along the beach with someone I had spent the evening dancing with!

Journal cover

I created this journal cover from handmade fabric paper and bound it in hand dyed and stamped tape
I love this old photo so transferred it to fabric and stitched it to the background  The long tags are also fabric paper with hand written goals added  The title is from round tiles stamped and secured to the background with embroidery thread
